Vass-Tech have been looking after my Golf for some years now. It konked out suddenly without warning. Vass-Tech sorted me out just a new battery but their customer service, standards of work are just brilliant. I won’t have my car maintained anywhere else. I was recommended to Vass-Tech by a friend. One of the best recommendations ever! I finally managed to save enough for my dream 23 year old VW T4. Hamish was reasonably cheap, so I made the decision to prioritise my money into making sure he was mechanically sound before spending additional money on conversion to full on Camper. I took Hamish to Russ and Rob who gave him an initial check over – no charge, a few recommendations. I knew I needed my air conditioning fixing because I have 2 Dogs who travel everywhere with me, and there are no rear windows in my T4. Russ and Rob finally managed to track down the parts required (not an easy task) and now my old Van has excellent air conditioning! They have removed the bench seats for me, which is quite a job – no charge. Cleaned down oil leak – no charge. I will always take Hamish back to Vass-Tech for any work required. He is booked in at the end of this month for an oil leak and also a little “rust fixing”. I believe these guys are honest, very fair and excellent at what they do. I’ve taken several cars to Russ and Rob at VASS Tech over the past 6 years, one is an old VW Golf GTI, so that is within the VASS family – but I have also taken a Subaru Impreza, a Renault Clio, a Saab 9-3, and a Ford Fiesta to them. So it seems to me that VASS Tech will work confidently and capably on ANY car. Their hourly rate is reasonable and is WAY below main dealer rates- and I have also found both the customer service and the standard of work to be excellent. They have a beautiful new building which is so clean it looks to me you could eat your meals off their workshop floor! VASS Tech are my go to garage no matter what car I have. Be aware though that they are very successful and so therefore can often be booked up weeks in advance – if you want something done it might pay you to book it in early. Also there is one courtesy car available for customers but again, this gets booked up well in advance. September 22 Mr Hobbs

I went to see these guys in a state of despair, having been told I had loads of problems for my forthcoming MOT. I saw Russ,and he instantly put my mind at rest with his understanding of cars in general, and his knowledge of Audis. My car did have several issues, but not all the things I’d been alerted to needing doing immediately for the MOT. He kindly told me what I’d need for the MOT and what I’d need moving forward. It enabled me to plan and have the confidence to trust them.
I unfortunately did have to spend a fair bit to get it there (one issue alone was a 5 1/2 hour fix!) – but Russ/VASS did a great job and my old car is now MOT’d and running smoooooothly! They are a small business with a big heart, friendly and caring, but also professional and thorough, and I will definitely be going back for the other bits as and when I need them fixing. When my local garage was unable to repair my VW Golf following a breakdown I was relieved when they were able to recommend a more specialist company. So my rather aged car was towed up to Whitchurch into the capable hands of VASS-Tech and I could relax. Russ and his team are so courteous and helpful and I felt confident that they would solve the problem, which they did. An ongoing electrical issue was making our VW Golf unusable, Vass-Tech were recommended to us after previous repairs by a specialist auto-electrician failed to fully diagnose and solve the problem. This recommendation of Vass-Tech proved to be spot on and the service we received was First Class. In particular, special thanks to Russ for his openness, honesty and professionalism in diagnosing and solving the problem. Communications throughout the repairs were excellent and there were no shocks in the final bill which was also less than we had initially feared.All in all, absolutely fantastic service from Russ and the Vass-Tech team and there is only one place we will be taking our vehicles for servicing and repairs in future. As a long-term Volkswagen owner I have been a customer of Vass-tech for many years. I became a regular customer because I found Russ, Rob, and Nick provided a professional service, but with a personal touch. I have come to trust the advice they give, as well as appreciating the time they take to explain what needs doing and how much it will cost once work is required. I have confidence work undertaken has been professionally carried out. I have never written a review of this sort before, but a recent example of the added value I think they provide has led me to write this comment. This involved Nick coming to my home at the end of the working day to identify the cause of a gear selection problem at a time when I was physically unable to bring my car to the workshop after an operation, and then returning on a later date to fit the new part required to fix the problem, so the car was immediately available once I was able to use it again. Obviously this Is not the sort of service that one can regularly expect, but at a time when I was in a fix they really helped me out – and not for the first time; as a customer I really appreciate this sort of service, and it’s great to find there are still people who will try to go that extra step. Lock in Driver’s door broken, unable to gain access to inside of car. Contacted Russ at Vasstech who managed to unlock the door from inside. Yesterday Russ fitted a new lock, thank goodness. Very professional, at the same time friendly service. In the last three months I’ve had the Seat Mii S MOT’d, full service and now the Driver’s door lock replaced.

First time I have used this garages services. Discovered via internet search.
I had a problem with my AUDI TT running poorly. Was excellently dealt with by Russ, diagnosed the problem very quickly.
Russ is very knowledgeable and was able to explain the issue to me in simple terms. All replaced parts were retained and their function explained to me when I returned to collect the vehicle. I was SO lucky to be referred to these guys with my 2014 polo. The problem was not a common one, and it was touch and go as to whether the car was repairable. Russ was fantastic, he kept me informed every step of the way, and by being both tenacious and diligent found the problem. I am a new customer to Vass-Tech and I can not speak highly enough of them it is worth the travel from Oxford just to use them. Especially after multiple bad encounters with the mechanics at Oxford Audi I was looking for someone to repair a really unusual fuel system problem which was difficult and expensive so after ringing a few garages to no avail I came across Vass-Tech and a quick review of there website a chat with Russ and I had confidence they were the right people for the job. on the initial diagnosis Russ agreed with the original peoples diagnostics and the price was around £4000+, but Russ being a true Mechanic/Technician actually spent the time to properly investigate the issue and managed to work out It was a single faulty injector and get the price of repair down dramatically.
I can not recommend Vass-Tech any higher and they will be servicing and repairing (well hopefully not) when ever is needed.
